The coalition partners discussed yesterday in Doboj the formation of the government at the state level and said on that occasion that they remain committed to the continuation of that process and that all topics will be discussed to unblock processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
High-ranking officials of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) and representatives of the eight parties with which the agreement on coalition action at the state level was signed held a meeting in Doboj today and continued discussions on the implementation of the election results.
Earlier, Ogrešević and Efendić announced the possible abandonment of the coalition due to Dodik’s rhetoric as well as the adoption of the Law on Immovable Property used for the functioning of public authority in RS, which the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina declared unconstitutional on September 22, which they did today by giving up on the joint formation of the government at the state level.
After the meeting, Dodik said that he is not going to not give up on the issue of state property, adding that it is an issue that will be resolved through dialogue and that it has nothing to do with the formation of the government, calling for respect for the procedures that he claims are based on the Dayton Peace Agreement, which were ordered by the decisions of ‘foreign judges in the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina’.
He says that SNSD is not in a hurry to form a government because they already have their representatives in the incumbent convocation of the Council of Ministers. Their goal, he says, is to unblock the processes and to adopt the state budget in the first quarter of the year after the formation of the new convocation of the BiH Council of Ministers.
“If someone has a problem with celebrating January 9 as the day of Republika Srpska, we also have a problem with celebrating March 1 – Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We will not give up on January 9, even though we signed the coalition agreement, and these are topics that will not be removed from the agenda, as this is not a matter of defeat or victory,” added Dodik.
SDP leader Nermin Nikšić also said that the goal is to create a new environment in which it is possible to discuss matters on which representatives of different political parties do not agree.
“It will be easier when the new convocation of the Council of Ministers is formed and when we show that we are all ready to start solving the daily life problems of BiH citizens and ensure the functioning of institutions at the level of BiH because now we have a blockade,” added Nikšić.
The leaders of SNSD and SDP confirmed that many issues are open, among which is the issue of signing an agreement between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the construction of roads and motorways.
Representatives of the eight parties that are part of the coalition with SNSD and the Croat Democratic Union (HDZ) had a meeting in Zenica yesterday when it was said that the appointment of the BiH Council of Ministers will be prolonged until the open issues are resolved.
