Izetbegovic FergusonChairman of the Presidency of BiH, Bakir Izetbegovic, received Ambassador of the United Kingdom Edward Ferguson. The main topic of their conversation was the decision on calling a referendum on the Day of RS, which was recently adopted by the National Assembly of the RS.

In the conversation with Ambassador Ferguson, the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Bakir Izetbegovic, warned once again that the decision of the National Assembly of the RS to call a referendum and the process of its implementation, represent a clear violation of constitutional jurisdiction of BiH or violation of obligations of the entity of RS to respect the Constitution of BiH, in relation with the final and binding nature of decisions made by the Constitutional Court of BiH.

Chairman Izetbegovic asked the Ambassador Ferguson that all institutions of the international community that are responsible for all aspects of implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement, and especially the High Representative of the international community in BiH and the Peace Implementation Council, in accordance with their jurisdiction and responsibilities to undertake concrete actions and steps in order to protect the Dayton Peace Agreement.

Chairman Izetbegovic especially emphasized the fact that the celebration of the 9th of January as the Day of RS represents a discriminatory act towards other nations in that part of BiH, which is contrary to the European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, which is contained in the conclusions of the European Commission for Democracy through law also known as the Venice Commission from 2013.

The officials welcomed the first registration of perspective military locations in the RS, in Han Pijesak, with which was started the fulfillment of conditions from Tallinn in this entity of BiH.

During the meeting, they also discussed the resolution of the status of the city of Mostar.
