The People’s Republic of China is opening a new chapter in the history of the most populous country in the world with determined goals and projections of economic development and its role and positioning on a global scale.
This was emphasized at the conference called “Where will we be in 2021?” – Reflections on the 19th Congress of the Communist Party of China”, which took place in the organization of the Association of independent intellectuals “Circle 99” in Sarajevo and the Center for promotion and creation of the initiative “One Belt and One Road”.
“One of the most important conclusions of the conference is that the socialism with Chinese characteristics entered a new era, which is based on the current development of this country,” said the Ambassador of China to BiH, Chen Bo.
Ambassador Bo stated that the Chinese people are aiming for goals that are more than just material satisfaction, including higher standards in the field of democracy, the rule of law, equality, justice and security, and the success in the sector of ecology.
She also noted the commitment of her country to strive to balanced development, but also to face new challenges when it comes to better quality and more efficient economic growth and development in all segments, i.e. the development of the country that is based on the latest technology and innovations.
Honorary guest and former Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH and Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Prof. Dr. Zlatko Lagumdzija, emphasized that the initiative “One Belt – One Road” will have direct reflection on BiH as well, including the initiative “16 + 1”, with which China is entering this part of the world by engaging the amount of 900 billion USD for the realization of new development platforms.
Prof. Dr. Anto Domazet noted the significance of Chinese initiatives that are directed towards the region of Central and Eastern Europe, and he added that large investment funds were allocated for this purpose, which is opening great opportunities for BiH.
He believes that reforms and building of institutional capacities in BiH are crucial for use of such opportunities, in order to be able to propose specific projects and use large investment funds.
“BiH must coordinate its own activities and use the opportunities that are offered through these initiatives,” concluded participants of the conference.
