tito-hitler-stalinA little over 100 years ago, the capital of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy was home to several persons who marked the 20th century.

During 1913, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Leon Trotsky, Josip Broz Tito and Sigmund Freud all stayed in Vienna at the same time, only several kilometers away from each other.

Adolf Hitler lived in Vienna between 1908 and 1913, when he pursued the career of a painter, unsuccessfully.

At the same time, in 1913, Stalin spent several months in this city, where he met with the Russian revolutionary Trotsky, who published the gazette Justice (Pravda) in Vienna.

Founder of the psychoanalysis Sigmund Freud moved to Vienna in 1860 and abandoned the city in 1938, after the annexation of Austria by the Nazi Germany.

Former Yugoslav president Josip Broz Tito lived and worked as a metalworker in the capital of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy for years, including year 1913, before he was recruited to the imperial army.

Thus, during several months in 1913 Vienna was home to five persons who certainly marked the last century in certain periods.
