The Block 7, which is the largest post-war investment in the power sector in BiH, should get the final approval of the Parliament of the FBiH by the end of this month, after which can start its construction, whose value is estimated to about 1.5 billion BAM. Due to the great significance of this block for mines in the FBiH, the Union of Miners appealed to representatives of the FBiH and the Government of FBiH to speed up procedures and remove all barriers that are postponing this process.

The last negotiations with the Development Bank of China are finalized. The final text of the borrowing contract was also agreed. Now everything is in the hands of the Government and the Parliament of FBiH, which needs to give approval on borrowing.

“This story is finalized, there is still seven days of work on the final text of our contract. Our block is fully cost effective, which is very important from the point of view of the risk of the budget of the FBiH, which will be the guarantor for the realization of this block,” said Director of EPBiH, Bajazit Jasarevic.

Due to the importance of Block 7 for the survival of miners in the FBiH and about 7, 000 workplaces, the management of EPBiH expects everything to be completed by the end of the month.

“Block 7 is so important that somebody will find it hard to find some new barriers. That agreement will be one of the best ones in the region,” said Jasarevic.

“For us, Block 7 and Block Banovici are equally important. We had a meeting with representatives of Gezuba, and we clearly expressed the support to Block 7,” said Prime Minister of Tuzla, Bego Gutic.

The Union of Miners requires from the Ministry of Finance of the FBiH to unblock this process and speed up this procedure.
