12968630_1150131508371137_699744792_nWith the presence of numerous media, the Mayor of Sarajevo Ivo Komšić and his Deputy Abdulah Skaka yesterday officially announced the beginning of construction of Trebević cable car. The construction began with the demolition of the upper (arrival) station next to the demolished restaurant Vidikovac.

The Cantonal Board of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Sarajevo provides absolute support for this significant project whose implementation will certainly enrich the tourist offer of Sarajevo and make the wish of numerous people of Sarajevo, who have been eagerly awaiting the beginning of works on the construction of cable car, come true.

Deputy Mayor of Sarajevo Abdulah Skaka highlighted that it was a solemn moment for the city of Sarajevo.

“The cable car will be constructed on the old route. Today (yesterday) we will demolish the arrival station, and the call for demolition of the departure station will be published soon. We will also begin with public procurement of a new cable car. Placement of poles in the length of 2.200 meters will begin in seven months. We will strive to make use of all existing places and poles that have been placed previously,” Skaka stated.

The Municipality of Stari grad issued a permit for execution of works, which are to be executed according to the Elaborate for the demolition of the arrival and departure station. The Elaborate was made by the Institute IPSA. Investor of the project is the City of Sarajevo.
