Cooperation on building the International Cultural Centre ”East West Centre”

Mayor of Municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo Semir Efendić and manager of ”East West Centre” Haris Pašović agreed to cooperate on building the International Cultural Centre ”East West Sarajevo”.

For the need of building the International Cultural Centre, the municipality of Novi Grad will secure the needed location, in order to create the conditions for realization of three year negotiations of East West Centre and City of Geneva.

Mayor of Geneva Rémy Pagani, in a letter expressed the intention of Geneva to finance the complete tender procedure, i.e. the international tender publishing and selecting the international jury.

Pagani also said that Geneva is prepared, with its partners in the world, to help the financing of the construction of building of International Cultural Centre East West under the condition that Sarajevo secures the necessary location.

Efendić said: ”We hope that with act we finally moved from the standstill, and that we’ll create conditions for building the International Cultural Centre. Citizens of Novi Grad and of city of Sarajevo, but also the entire BiH will in this manner get a respectable object for culture, and East West Centre will finally get decent working conditions.”
