Council of Ministers decides: 1.8 Billion BAM for Development Projects

Investments faktor.baOf the total amount of 1.8 billion BAM, which is the amount of the total value of development projects whose implementation plan was adopted by the Council of Ministers of BiH at the last session, the majority will be used to help the returnee population. Almost one third of the sum, precisely 510 million BAM, will be used for different projects that support return.

The project with the greatest value is the project of closing the collective centers, which includes construction of homes for people who currently live in one of the 121 collective centers in BiH. For this project, 203 million BAM will be used by 2019.

The following project according to the value is the project of housing of refugees, for which 200 million BAM will be allocated in the planned period. This is a regional project in which BiH, Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro participate. The mentioned amount must be provided by BiH.

Another 107 million BAM will be allocated by BiH for support to the return process. These projects are implemented under the patronage of the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH. Total amount was divided to projects that were approved in different periods.

All of the three aforementioned projects are among the projects whose implementation has already begun.

Total value of the so-called nominated projects, or those whose implementation did not begin yet, is 433 million BAM.

All projects are divided into two categories: investment-development programs and other programs. Of the total 1.8 billion BAM; around 1.2 billion BAM will be used for development-investment projects, while the remaining funds will be used for other investments.

All these projects will be financed by domestic and international sources. However, most of the funds will be provided from the budget of BiH. Also, a part of funds will be provided by institutions that implement the projects, and domestic grants will make up one part, too. Funds from international sources are provided through loans and credits.
