The Court in Belgrade ordered for the Trial for Srebrenica to be continued

The Appellate Court in Belgrade ordered the continuation of the first proceedings for crimes committed in Srebrenica, which is conducted in the Serbian judiciary and therefore annulled the decision of the High Court that dismissed the indictment as illegal.

The trial to eight former members of the special police unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska will be continued in Belgrade after the Appellate Court annulled the decision according to which the indictment was revoked in this case, as reported by BIRN.

Nedeljko Milidragovic, Aleksa Golijanin, Milivoje Batinica, Aleksandar Dacevic, Bora Miletic, Jovan Petrovic, Dragomir Parovic and Vidosav Vasic are charged with organizing and participating in the shooting of more than 1,300 Bosniak civilians in an agricultural warehouse in the village of Kravica near Srebrenica in July 1995.

Murders in Kravica village are one of the massacres that were committed by Serb forces after the fall of Srebrenica in July 1995, which resulted in the death of around 8,000 Bosniak men and boys.

So far, more than 1,300 civilians who were massacred in Kravica have been identified.

Previously, the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued indictments against Milidragovic and Golijanin for genocide, but they could not be arrested since they lived in Serbia.

After Serbia and BiH signed a protocol on cooperation in the process of prosecution of war criminals in 2013, the Prosecution of BiH sent all the evidence to Belgrade.

Despite the verdicts of the international courts, Serbia does not accept that the massacres in Srebrenica are called genocide.
