On 16 September 2019, Emira Hodžić, Registrar of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ivana Korajlić Executive Director of the Global Coalition Against Corruption “Transparency International” in Bosnia and Herzegovina signed the Memorandum of Understanding concerning the implementation of the “Monitoring, Advocacy and Legal Advice Center (M-ALAC)“ project, funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in Sarajevo.

The objectives of the M-ALAC project are to build a network of law students who will, through training and through active monitoring of trials of corruption, be better informed about the operation of judicial institutions and the development of an open dialogue on the work of the judiciary in corruption cases.

The objectives of cooperation between the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Transparency International, inter alia, include providing training to law students in the field of criminal and criminal procedure law, as well as the development and improvement of students’ professional skills in the field of practical application of positive rules before the Court of BiH. Also recognized was the significance of establishment and promotion of active participation of law students in all anti-corruption initiatives, as well as the promotion of Court’s cooperation with the social community, which is also one of the objectives of the established cooperation.

Between August 2019 and June 2020, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Transparency International will be working together to implement the activities envisioned by the Memorandum, and thus give their contribution to enhancing the quality of the higher education system in BiH.
