Covic: A good deal of work has been done in Relation to the three Laws

HDZ BiH President Dragan Čović said today in Banja Luka that a good deal of work has been done in relation to the Election Law, as well as the Law on the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Law on Prevention of Conflict of Interest, although they have not been fully harmonized.

“There is a possibility that on Monday or Tuesday we will give a vote that we have reached a level of compliance and then the Council of Ministers will adopt those proposals,” Čović told reporters, adding that everything was reduced to two or three days.

He reminded that several laws had to be harmonized in the last 10 days, and one of them is the Election Law, as well as the Law on the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Law on Prevention of Conflict of Interest.

According to him, they are trying to find enough reason to believe that, apart from the need to open the door to credibility when it comes to the EU, a positive response will be obtained and that the foundations of BiH’s functioning will not be undermined.

“It is the complete equality of the three constituent peoples in accordance with the Constitution of BiH and the legitimate representation of those peoples at all institutions of BiH,” Čović stated.

He said that he would like to see a lot of people who want to help Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“What we don’t do, we leave enough space for others to interfere. I am convinced that BiH will not be functional until the executive and legislative power, the political power in BiH that was elected by the people, takes responsibility for itself and makes decisions. This is how we will probably close the door to some who think they can do some other things by imposing or in some other way,” Čović said.
