12767643_1113999845317637_1530361859_nChairman of the Friendship Group of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH for North America, South America, Australia, Oceania and Japan Damir Arnaut met yesterday with the non-residing Ambassador of New Zealand to BiH Patrick John Rata.

Arnaut informed Rata about priorities in the work of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH and highlighted that currently the key preoccupation of the parliamentarians are activities on meeting activities required for BiH’s EU Integration.

Ambassador Rata especially expressed interest in activities of the parliamentary Friendship Group, also expressing confidence that it will contribute to further strengthening of friendly relations between BiH and New Zealand and stronger interparliamentary cooperation.

Within the discussion about possibilities of cooperation of the two countries, the need for BiH to become a participant in the so-called “Working Holiday” project has been actualized yesterday. In this way, conditions would be created for young people from BiH to work and travel across New Zealand for a year.

It was pointed out that the work of the Honorary Consulate of BiH in Auckland significantly contributed to the strengthening of friendly relations between BiH and New Zealand. However, Arnaut and Rata agreed that it would be useful if the Honorary Consulate of New Zealand started operating in BiH, the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH stated.
