Criminal Charges for Blocking Traffic in Sarajevo

sarajevo-blokada-saobracajaSpokesperson of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Canton Sarajevo, Irfan Nefić said that several people have filed criminal charges for threatening the freedom of movement against N.N, writes Anadolija.

The crowd of people and nervous drivers are present every day on the streets of the B&H capital, Sarajevo, due to the daily traffic blockade on the intersection between Tito and Alipašina street.

Protests have been ongoing for nearly one month, and protestors block traffic during the protests. There are citizen of Sarajevo who have begun to express their frustration over this, explaining that the protestors create problems to thousands of other citizens who are trying to do their every day activities, to go to work, to doctors, to visit a friend or a family member who is in the hospital.

The government of Canton Sarajevo has held a 24 hours extraordinary session, where it has condemned the blockade of main roads in Sarajevo “which prevent citizens of Sarajevo Canton from freedom of movement and violate basic human rights and freedoms”, announced the PR of Sarajevo Canton Government.

“Members of government have pointed out that this blockade brings to the subjects of Sarajevo Canton an enormous damage due to disabling their daily operations”, is said in the statement.

The session gave the full support to the Ministry of Internal affairs of Sarajevo Canton in the implementation of the law of planned measures and activities related to unblocking the traffic in Sarajevo.
