The Croatian Parliament today passed a Resolution proposed by the Homeland Movement (DP), which, as the party’s president and the Vice-President of the Parliament, Ivan Penava, emphasized, Croatia “sends a message that it will not passively observe the outvoting of Croats in a neighboring country.”

The Resolution was supported by 83 MPs, while three abstained, and one voted against. The left opposition did not take part in the voting. Dalija Orešković (DOSiP party) voted against, two SDSS MPs abstained, including the Representative of the Bosniak National Minority, Armin Hodžić.  In addition to the ruling coalition, the independent MPS Marija Selak Raspudić and Nino Raspudić, members of Most, and Ivica Baksa (NPS) also gave their support.

Through nine points, the Resolution invites the Government to continue providing support to achieve full political equality of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina within the framework of political system reform, which would ensure fair elections in which, as stated, each constituent nation would have the opportunity to elect its legitimate representatives. It is also added that “the Parliament is supporting electoral models proposed by legitimate representatives of the Croatian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina that would ensure legitimate political representation of Croats, including the proposal on establishing a separate electoral unit for electing the Croatian Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Hina reported.
