Sabina Cudic, representative of Our Party (Nasa stranka) in the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), reacted yesterday to the departure of Bakir Izetbegovic, Milorad Dodik, and Dragan Covic to Brussels, where they met with the Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi.
Cudic criticized the attitude of Varhelyi and part of the international community toward the citizens of BiH and labeled it as ignorant.
”It is reflected in the fact that he is negotiating about their future with people whose political positions in no way reflect the capacity needed to make such important decisions as will be discussed today. These are two members of the House of Peoples and one member of the BiH Presidency. Varhelyi should know that there are neither privileged members of the House of People nor privileged members of the Presidency. It is clear, however, that Varhelyi is not calling them in their institutional capacity, but in their para-institutional capacity, in the capacity of leaders of the peoples,” said Cudic.
She added that such an approach benefits Dodik, Covic, and Izetbegovic because they receive legitimacy from the international community that peoples and their self-proclaimed leaders are above the state and its institutions.
”As ‘Our party’, we will not agree to the outcome of these negotiations, no matter what it is, and we call on all those who are against the institutionalization of the function of the leader of the people, invented for the purpose of dividing the country, to clearly tell the international community that such things will not be tolerated. I promise the citizens that after the elections, their future will be negotiated on their behalf in accordance with their wishes by their elected representatives and not by politically spent, compromised, self-proclaimed leaders of the peoples,” Cudic concluded, Klix.ba writes.
