Sabina Cudic, a representative of Our Party, sharply criticized the behavior of politicians from SNSD and the member of the House of Peoples’ collegium Dragan Covic because they did not join the meeting with the European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos.
Although the visit was well-organized and warmly received by other political representatives, SNSD, together with Dragan Covic, decided to demonstratively boycott the event, while their representatives remained in their offices.
“Today, our parliament hosted the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos. Despite the well-organized protocol and the pleasant words with which we welcomed the Commissioner, we could not, nor should we, hide the fact that the visit was boycotted by the representatives of SNSD, who, like sulky children, sat demonstratively in their offices while all other parties participated in the conversation with the European Union (EU) envoy.
To be fair, the member of the House of Peoples’ collegium, Dragan Covic, was also absent. In the recent period, he has discussed Bosnia and Herzegovina’s (BiH) European path with the Russian and Israeli ambassadors, but not with the European Commissioner for Enlargement, because it is well known that the European path of BiH goes through Moscow and Tel Aviv. When I say well-known, I mean known to no one except the HDZ president.
In my statement on behalf of Our Party, I pointed out that there is no collective responsibility for the blockage of the European path – only the clear and precise responsibility of SNSD.
The question remains: why do the voters of these parties think that their views are adequately represented? Are they satisfied? Whom and to whom are the SNSD representatives presenting their voters while they sit in the office with crossed arms, and as over the years one European door after another is closed to their leaders, without even the possibility of entering an increasing number of countries – meaning they don’t even have the physical possibility to access the tables where decisions are made, let alone to say anything there?
Who at this moment represents Republika Srpska (RS)? Where? In what way? RS has never been more isolated and in a more difficult socio-economic situation, and the representatives of the leading party sit alone in the office, staring at the wall, sulking.
Dear fellow citizens, do you ask your representatives – what are they doing, where have they been, who have they met, what did they demand there, what did they fight for, with what results? Except for transmitting self-isolation like a disease to the entire entity. I say this with regret because we are all their hostages. But still, fellow citizens from RS – by far the most.
If the success is to completely isolate the people you claim to represent, then congratulations to SNSD, a job well done,” said Sabina Cudic.
