The Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina supports activities of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH and the State Veterinary Office of BiH in meeting the requirements for the export of milk and dairy products, as well as other animal products from BiH.
The positive response of the Food and Veterinary Office of the European Union (FVO), and the full acceptance of the Action Plan of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH and the State Veterinary Office of BiH, related to meeting the requirements for the export of milk to the EU, is a major step towards the opening the European market for milk and dairy products from BiH.
Return of the Minister Sarovic, who initiated the process of meeting these requirements in the cooperation with the State Veterinary Office of BiH even before Croatia joined the European Union, apparently prompted its re-launching and progress. It is especially important to emphasize that, with the realization of this Action Plan, a large part of requirements is being met for the export of other animal products. Additionally, those processes will be faster and easier after the approval for the export of milk and dairy products, as said in the announcement of the FTC.
Realization of the Action Plan has to be the highest priority of all relevant institutions, in order to end the procedure as soon as possible and for Bosnia and Herzegovina to be invited and to welcome the new inspection of the FVO. The Positive opinion of this Commission would mean the complete meeting of the requirements for the export of milk and dairy products to the European Union, and also the free export of these products to the market of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), as well as the transport through the area of the EU towards other attractive markets, such as Turkey and the Russian Federation.
