Darko Elez, whom the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina sentenced to 15 years in prison as a member of an organized criminal group, was transferred to Serbia where he will serve his sentence, is confirmed to Srna news agency by Elez’s lawyer Duško Tomić.

Tomić said that Elez was transferred to Serbia in the afternoon.

“I have just been officially informed about it,” Tomic added.

Elez demanded that he serve his sentence in Serbia.

The request for extradition to Serbia was submitted by Elez as soon as the legal possibilities for it became available, i.e. when the judicial authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina suspended the investigation that was launched against him due to the suspicion that in 2018 and 2019 he participated in two murders, extortion, and intimidation in East Sarajevo and other criminal acts.

He was arrested on December 21, 2020 on an Interpol warrant and extradited to BiH for trial in the “Doll” case.

On November 10 last year, Darko Elez fully pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the criminal acts he was charged with in the “Doll” case.

The indictment from the “Doll” case was confirmed and charged Elez with organized crime in connection with several serious crimes, including serious murders, attempted murders, money transport robberies and other crimes committed in the period from 2005 to 2009.
