Decrease in Number of unemployed in BiH

Unemployment and Wages in B&H oslobodjenje.baIn December 2016 the number of registered unemployed in BiH amounted to 510.022. If we take 2014 as a base year (2014 = 100) and compare December 2016 with the same month of 2015, we will notice that the number of unemployed decreased by 5 index points, or in absolute terms the number of people registered as unemployed decreased by 27.546.

If we compare registered unemployed by qualification structure, we will notice that the largest number of unemployed are highly skilled and skilled by 171.473 followed by those with a high school diploma by 142.777 and unskilled by 137.072. The lowest number of unemployed are those with higher education by 7.172, followed by those with university education by 41.446 (including PhDs and Masters).

The share of female population in registered unemployed amounted to 52,7% or in absolute terms 268.626 females.

In the female population, the largest number of unemployed are those with secondary education by 85.727, then those unskilled by 74.720 and those with highly skilled and skilled qualification by 71.286 females.
