Defense Minister explained why Weapons from the Bihac are being transported to Croatia

Defense Minister Zukan Helez explained the reasons for transporting weapons from the Bihac barracks “Adil Besic” to Croatia, to which the Una-Sana Canton (USC) authorities pointed out, suspecting that it was a matter of removing weapons with dangerous intentions.

USC Prime Minister Mustafa Ruznic published a letter they sent to the authorities, saying that the removal of weapons from the barracks in Bihac and their transportation through the Izacicborder crossing is alarming.

He said that it reminds of the extraction of weapons from the barracks in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) in the early 90s. However, Minister Helez explained what it was all about and that there was nothing suspicious behind it.

“Only a fool can write something like that in the middle of the day, that weapons are being illegally transferred from the barracks to Croatia,” said Helez.

The reason for the transfer of weapons is the court’s order that the old sales contract, from 25 years ago, should finally be implemented.

“The company ‘Scout’ bought it in 1998, long before me, and after that, an annex was made to the contract with Selmo Cikoticwhen he was a minister. We submitted it to the court and the court confirmed that we have to give it. Expert Berko preciselydetermined what is needed so that something that is not needed is not accidentally taken,” Helez said.

He points out that it is better for BiH to get rid of such weapons.

“It’s Russian weapons and equipment, we have to get rid of it if we want to join the NATO alliance. We need to import weapons compatible with their standards. Also, after a few years, if we don’t get rid of it, it will expire like food and medicine. in that case, we have to destroy it and in that case, we won’t get anything, and will also need to pay for it to be done,” he said.

He points out that the suspicions raised are just propaganda and emphasizes that weapons have already been removed from Capljina and Trebinje, where Serbs and Croats are located, and that now it is Bihac‘s turn, Klix.ba reports.
