Democratic Youth Movement: Nobody Interested in Petition With More Than 8.000 Signatures for Erasmus+

erasmus+The Democratic youth Movement launched a petition in mid-December 2013, with the aim of promoting access of B&H to the Erasmus +program of the EU. More than 8.000 signatures of youth from all over B&H were collected in 10 days, who expressed their wish for B&H to approach this program and to enable the youth to gain new knowledge and experiences across Europe, announced the Democratic Youth Movement.

The petition was submitted to the Ministry of Civil Affairs of B&H and to the Ministry of Science and Culture of RS, which still did not respond to this petition, announced the Democratic Youth Movement.

The Democratic Youth Movement chose to address OHR, to inform them as well of the petition and to include them in solving this issue.

“We received a short and clear answer after 10 days, that it is not under OHR’s jurisdiction to solve this issue and that they have forwarded our request to EU, which still did not respond to our request. This approach towards us and the youth in B&H shows that nobody, including many international organizations is interested in youth issues and the situation in which we are is the worst in the last 50 years. This shows that, unfortunately, politics is above everything, even above a better education”, written in the statement.

We have nothing more than to encourage all young people to continue fighting for their rights, to not vote on elections for these representatives who boycotted on knowledge, to organize demonstrations, civil disobedience, and other legal means to defeat those who wish us no good, because it is no longer just a question of Erasmus +, but is the future of all of us, stated the Democratic Youth Movement.
