In the Municipality of Foca, in the locality of Modrana and the tourist complex “Ada” in Ustikolina, a joint demonstration exercise within peace support operations of CIMIC was conducted.

This was the exercise of military, police and civil protection units, which gathered a total of 200 participants. They demonstrated their readiness in providing assistance to citizens that are endangered by floods and landslides. The aim of this exercise was to show their readiness and expertise in situations of crisis and emergency.

The exercise took place in a scenario in which the alleged rebel forces attacked the Armed Forces of BiH at the locality of “Ada”. Reaction units and soldiers with machine guns came to help them. On the other side, employees of the Healthcare Center Foca, members of the Mountain Rescue Service, firefighters and members of the Red Cross assisted wounded civilians. During the exercise, the unit of the Armed Forces provided assistance to civilians but they also discovered landmines, which were destroyed by members of the Federal Administration of Civil Protection.

The exercise was evaluated as very successful.

“We attended a small, but dynamic and important exercise that was performed by members of the Armed Forces and members of several civilian structures from BPC Gorazde where we have successfully demonstrated that we can anticipate a lot of things through cooperation and joint efforts, and I refer to civilian-military cooperation, and not, God forbid, some situations like floods, fire, earthquakes, etc. I am very pleased that we witnessed that cooperation with all institutions is positive, and I believe that this will be continued in the future as well, “said the General Major Dragan Vukovic, Commander of the Operational Command of the AF BiH.
