The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina has announced the opening of the Qatar Airways’ direct flight from Doha to Sarajevo, from the 7th of September.
The opening of the airline is a concrete result of the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Crnadak to Qatar (13th and 14th of October 2015) and the recent visit of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani to the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina is expecting that the establishment of the air services will significantly contribute to the development of tourism and overall economic cooperation between BiH and Qatar and further development of friendly relations between the two countries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina has expressed the hope that soon the conditions for the announced formation of the Qatar Friendship Fund will be created. This would be used to directly encourage the establishment of new companies as well as small and medium enterprises. In accordance with the discussions with the Qatari side, funding is going to be provided from the entire territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which means the Serbian Republic as well as the Federation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina will continue its activities in the field of economic diplomacy as a very important segment of their work.
