Chairman of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Presidency Milorad Dodik has congratulated the newly-elected European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

“I am convinced that you will contribute with your experience and knowledge to the further internal consolidation of the European Union and the strengthening of its international position. I use the opportunity to express hope that the further enlargement of the European Union to the countries of the Western Balkans will be one of the priorities of your work,” Dodik stated.

He added that he hopes that Bosnia and Herzegovina will make significant advances in bringing the Union closer and getting candidate status as soon as possible.
