After the agreement was reached on the credit arrangement with the International Monetary Fund and the coordination mechanism, Chairman of the BiH Presidency Bakir Izetbegović and President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik said that they are satisfied with the outcome of yesterday’s meeting.
Izetbegović said that he talked to Dodik about the future of EU integration of BiH and that in this regard they reached an agreement on coordination mechanism, traffic strategy and the arrangement with the IMF.
Furthermore, Izetbegović said they solved a set of issues that reopened the path of BiH towards the EU, thereby emphasizing that the credit arrangement with the IM does not only mean that the country will get money, but it also includes another set of reforms.
When asked have they talked about the referendum in the RS, Izetbegović said that they did not talk about referendum, only about the EU integration of BiH.
Izetbegović said that there was no compliance with Dodik’s requests, but that they tried to find solutions.
Dodik said that three issues that were disputable on behalf of the RS regarding the coordination mechanism were solved, including the issue of chairmanship, representation in the EU institutions, and the issue of decision making.
Dodik added that this finally created conditions under which the RS might accept the coordination mechanism and that they finally ended the wrangling about who is right and who is wrong.
President of the RS said that they agreed to decide on everything with a consensus, which includes the representatives of the Government of FBiH, Government of RS, and the Council of Ministers of BiH.
“If there are no representatives, there is no decision. There is no voting and no consensus without us,” Dodik said.
