Dodik says that Today he will propose a “peaceful Separation”

Milorad Dodik, the President of the Republika Srpska (RS) entity, once again showcased the futility of his political stance. This was evident during a press conference following his hearing at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), where he is on trial for contempt of the High Representative’s decisions.

Dodik’s visible nervousness was poorly masked by a tirade of insults directed at the state and various international factors. His unease stems from his political strategy being cornered with no new propositions to offer. He is left with little more than commanding blind allegiance from his followers, who continue to nod in agreement with his futile aspirations.

Firstly, Dodik announced that he would propose a “peaceful separation” in BiH today in Srebrenica. He intends to address this demand to the Federation of BiH (FBiH). He insists on this in order to justify his flawed narrative that BiH, being composed of entities, can be dissolved as such.

However, even Dodik is aware that this rhetoric is worn out and that no dissolution will happen, as the first article of the BiH Constitution states that the Republic of BiH, now officially known as “BiH,” continues its legal existence under international law as a state.

This continuity is the foundational principle that Dodik overlooks. The SNSD leader knows that his proposal will not receive any substantial response.

The question arises: why doesn’t Dodik secede after 18 years of threats? He refrains from secession because he knows it would lead to political ruin.

By continuously repeating the same old phrases, Dodik skillfully portrays himself and his policies as victims, thus avoiding facing the truth. This time, the truth pertains to the genocide in Srebrenica.

Ahead of today’s vote on the resolution recognizing the Srebrenica genocide, Dodik threatens a change in the political climate, claiming that nothing will be the same. This is an attempt to carve out a space for himself on the political stage, even though the only real change will be the global dissemination of the facts about the Srebrenica genocide. It is this truth that disrupts Dodik’s political agenda, Klix.ba reports.
