new investments on highwayChairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdic held a press conference today presenting the details of the meetings held in London at an investment conference of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Zvizdic emphasized his satisfaction with the conference, where he agreed financing of the construction of the highway with the EBRD in the amount of 300 million EUR.

Key two fields that were topics at the investment conference in London were the investment in transport and communications and energy sector. The delegation of BiH besides Zvizdic was consisted of the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Mirko Sarovic and the Director of the PE Highways of FB&H Jasmin Buco.

“Visit to the investment conference was very successful. The most important thing for us is that we will submit a request to the EBRD for crediting the construction of the highway in the amount of 300 million EUR, which will be successively withdrawn within the next 3 years. We expect the entity governments to make a request to the Council of Ministers of BiH, and we will forward it to the EBRD,” said Zvizdic.

He emphasized the importance of the construction of the highway, and besides the loan he announced public-private partnerships in the construction of certain sections, such as expressway Lasva – Travnik.

Minister Sarovic also addressed the media, and emphasized the fact that BiH improved its position at the EBRD, which is why our country has all credit lines available.

“From this year, the EBRD will increase funding of the energy sector, however, it is necessary to harmonize strategies in the field of transport and energy sectors in order for BiH not to lose money anymore. Without strategy and projects there are no investments,” said Sarovic.
