Edita Marić achieved the American dream

edita maricStudent of the American University in BiH (AUBIH) Edita Marić achieved the American dream –to work in the Congress of the USA, reports Anadolu Agency.

This twenty-two year old girl from Mostar has spent last six months being an intern in the Congress, where she went after the AUBIH offered their students of international law and diplomacy the possibility of engagement in the US Congress.

She said she was very happy to get the opportunity to go to Washington DC and to meet congressmen and senators, to assist them and to work in a place which is a dream of any student in the world.

She got internship in the Commission for safety and cooperation in Europe, better known as the Helsinki Committee of Human Rights.

She also did canvassing during the presidential campaign in Fairfax, Virginia and after Barack Obama was inaugurated she did internship during his inauguration.

During her internship she met many friends of BiH in the Congress, and attended debates in the Capitol Hill.

Despite her work she also continued with education via the Internet.

After internship in the USA she returned to BiH where she continued her education at AUBiH and added that she has very positive opinion on the US culture, people and life style and she wants to transmit that knowledge to her colleagues.
