Energoinvest: Claim that Gas Prices will not rise is not true

The company Energoinvest denies the claim of the director of the company Sarajevo Gas Istocno Sarajevo Nedeljko Elek that there will be no increase in gas prices for consumers, that is, that the price difference will be compensated by a decrease in Energoinvest’s profit.

As they announced, it is not clear to them what is the basis for the said statement, nor was it agreed upon. In support of their statement, they stated that the profit or loss of Energoinvest is determined upon acceptance of business reports in June 2024 for the previous year, the status of which is decided by the company’s authorities.

They emphasized that it was agreed that the difference in the new price of gas transportation, approved by the company Sarajevo Gas Istocno Sarajevo, will be charged to consumers from the first quarter of this year. This applies to consumers in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), as well as to consumers in Istocno Sarajevo. As the reason for that, they pointed out that there is no decision on subsidizing the price increase. At Energoinvest, they fear another possibility.

“We express our fear that after the approval of the new tariff, the company Sarajevo Gas Istocno Sarajevo will be followed by a request from the operator of the transportation system in the FBiH, considering that by accepting the request of the operator from the Republika Srpska (RS), there was a significant disparity in gas transportation prices to the detriment of the operator in the FBiH”, they emphasized.

They confirmed that at the meeting held yesterday in the FBiH Government, the demands of Sarajevo Gas Istocno Sarajevo were accepted.
