EU allocates Six million BAM to support investments in agricultural production

The European Union project EU4AGRI announces a public call worth BAM 6 million to support investments in primary agricultural production in BiH with the aim of achieving sustainable agriculture, controlled use of natural resources and introduction of good practices and creating new and preserving existing jobs.

This is a seventh in a row Public Call through the EU4AGRI project in order to support rural development, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic and recovery from the crisis caused by it.

The public call is open to individuals, crafts/entrepreneurs, cooperatives and companies actively engaged in primary agricultural production in the sectors of: milk production, meat production, cultivation of cereals and oilseeds, fruit growing including viticulture and olives, vegetable growing, planting material production (fruit seedlings, vegetable seedlings and seed potatoes), egg production, fish farming, cultivation of herbs, medicinal herbs, and mushrooms and honey production. Applicants may submit applications only individually.

Each applicant can apply for a grant in the amount of BAM 20,000 to BAM 200,000 (excluding VAT). For each investment, the applicant must provide its own co-financing in the amount of at least 35% of the total amount of the investment, except for the fruit and vegetable production sector where its own co-financing is at least 30%.

All interested parties can access the public call via the website http://www.eu4agri.ba. The deadline for submitting applications is January 31, 2022.

EU4AGRI project has supported more than 45 investments of Bosnian farmers and companies with investments worth a total of BAM 10.7 million that have been supported so far, of which BAM 6.3 million were financed by the EU. Under EU4AGRI, the EU provides support to strengthen the competitiveness of agriculture and rural development in BiH.

Through EU4AGRI-Recovery, the EU supports Bosnia and Herzegovina in mitigating the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on agri-food companies and rural tourism operators, and ensuring the continuity of their operations, while EU4BusinessRecovery reduces the consequences of the pandemic on agricultural and tourism companies. , micro, small and medium enterprises. The European Union has invested EUR 38 million euros for all three projects.

The projects are implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) in partnership with the Czech Development Agency (for EU4AGRI and EU4AGRI-Recovery) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the International Labor Organization (ILO) (for EU4BusinessRecovery ), UNDP announced.
