eu at your doorA six month information and education initiative of EUSR “EU at Your Door” directly reached citizens of 14 towns in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Ugljevik, Bileća, Kladanj, Vlasenica, Novi Grad, Sanski Most, Bugojno, Srebrenik, Prozor- Rama, Teslić, Sokolac, Posušje, Kupres, and Ključ.

The two-day event began in each city with a high-school debate, followed by “Coffee with the EU”, and continued in cultural centres and sports halls with concerts featuring local entertainers plus rock groups, sevdah bands, and plays performed by the Mostar Youth Theatre, finishing in each town with a gala talent show.

More than 1,180 young people directly participated in the program overall. The high-school debates were attended by more than 500 students and 700 citizens had coffee with ambassadors of EU member states and officials from the Office of the Special Representative. Almost 7000 were directly present in “EU at Your Door” events, and large number of citizens learned about the initiative through the media and FB.

Particularly young people, participated enthusiastically in towns throughout the country, and the visit by competition winners to Sarajevo for the final event was a fittingly upbeat conclusion to a very successful initiative.
