European Union Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi should come to Sarajevo next week, and as announced, a meeting with the newly formed authorities is planned.
“The European Commissioner for EU Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi, is unofficially coming to Sarajevo on Wednesday. It will be a short but important visit – the idea is to meet with the newly formed authorities, in order to continue concrete reforms on the momentum of candidate status”, BHRT learns.
Varhelyi emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina has not seen such a rapid formation of government, assessing that “positive signals” are appearing in our country.
“I think BiH took very seriously the offer we put on the table, and that includes the RS because they are also part of the formed government,” the commissioner said recently.
He then reminded that the conditions for the next step are clear and include eight criteria plus one, which must be met in order for BiH to join the EU.
