EUFOR Delegation presented new Plans related to joint Exercises

BiH Deputy Ministers of Defense Slaven Galić and Aleksandar Goganović, together with their colleagues, spoke today with EUFOR Operation Commander Lieutenant General Hubert Cottereau who is also the Vice-Chief of Staff at SHAPE in Brussels.

General Cottereau was accompanied by the commander of EUFOR in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Major General Helmut Habermayer, with his associates.

Deputy Ministers Galić and Goganović welcomed the members of the delegation and thanked General Cottereau for the help and support that the European Union and EUFOR in BiH provide to the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This was also an opportunity for General Cottereau to be informed about the activities that the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina carry out as part of their regular tasks. They also discussed cooperation with EUFOR forces in the field of training and exercises and strengthening the capabilities and capacities of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The officials also discussed plans, activities and modalities of cooperation with EUFOR, as well as ways and types of assistance that representatives of the European Union can provide to the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Ministry of Defense on the way to Euro-Atlantic integration.

General Cottereau and General Habermayer expressed their full support for the work of the defense institutions in fulfilling their mission and emphasized the primary role of the EUFOR Mission in BiH in maintaining a safe and stable environment in our country.

They presented new plans and ideas related to joint training and exercises in the upcoming period and expressed the need for cooperation in the part of using the necessary capacities for the smooth execution of EUFOR’s mission in BiH, the Press Service of the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
