EUFOR is “Monitoring the Situation” after the Threats from the Republika Srpska

Given the inflammatory rhetoric we have been hearing in Bosnia and Herzegovina in recent days, ahead of the verdict against RS President Milorad Dodik, and citizens’ concerns about the security situation, EUFOR told N1 that they are closely monitoring the situation in the country, and expressed their commitment to ensuring the security and stability of BiH.

“EUFOR operates strictly within its mandate, which was established by the United Nations Security Council, and fully respects the legal framework of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its institutions,” EUFOR told N1.

The response also confirms the commitment of the European Union military mission to the security of the country.

“We continue to closely monitor the situation across the country and confirm our commitment to supporting the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina in ensuring a safe and stable environment for all its citizens,” the response to N1 said.
