Euro-Med documented more than 130 mass graves in Gaza

The Geneva-based Euro-Mediterranean Observatory for Human Rights (Euro-Med) announced that it had documented more than 130 mass graves in which slain Palestinians were buried in Gaza, which is under Israeli blockade.

“Euro-Med has documented more than 130 mass graves in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023,” announced Euro-Med President Rami Abdu.

In his post, he shared a photo of a mass grave, stating that “this place belongs to Palestinians who were victims of Israeli genocide and is located on a street in the center of Gaza.”

Israel launched a deadly offensive on the Gaza Strip after Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, killing at least 30,534 people and injuring 71,920.

On January 26, following a genocide lawsuit filed by the Republic of South Africa, the International Court of Justice ruled that Israel must refrain from any actions related to the killing, attacks and destruction of the residents of the Gaza Strip and take all measures to prevent genocide.

Israel is accused of genocide before the International Court of Justice. An interim ruling in January ordered Tel Aviv to stop the genocidal acts and take measures to ensure humanitarian aid is provided to civilians in Gaza.

Attacks, however, continue unabated, and the delivery of aid remains insufficient to address the humanitarian disaster.

Israeli warplanes bombed a mass grave in the Jabalia refugee camp in the north of the Gaza Strip where the bodies of Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks were previously buried.

Hundreds of Palestinians, previously killed in Israeli attacks, were buried in a mass grave due to the lack of burial space due to the large number of victims in Israeli attacks.

Ahmed al-Kahlut, head of the Civil Defense Unit in northern Gaza, told Anadolu that Israeli warplanes carried out an airstrike on a grave where hundreds of Palestinians killed in previous attacks in the Jabalia refugee camp were buried.

Kahlut stated that the bodies were thrown to the surface of the earth as a result of the bombing.

According to him, civil defense teams made great efforts to rebury the bodies.

Unable to find a place in the graves to bury the thousands of Palestinians killed in months of massacres, Gazans are forced to bury their loved ones in mass graves.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced on Sunday that the number of people killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza reached 30,410.

On January 26, following a genocide lawsuit filed by the Republic of South Africa, the International Court of Justice ruled that Israel must refrain from any actions related to the killing, attacks and destruction of the residents of the Gaza Strip and take all measures to prevent genocide, AAwrites.
