photographyThe Office of the EU Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina will support the fifth edition of the BiH Photography of the Year festival. This year’s Festival programme includes a selection of the 60 best photographs in the Western Balkans region and organization of educational seminars, workshops and exhibitions. The Festival is organized annually by the web portal Fotografija.ba.

“We are pleased and honoured that the Office of EUSR supports our festival for a second consecutive year now. For us this represents acknowledgment for our efforts and confirmation of this project’s high cultural value”, said Haris Calkic, Director of the Festival.

“The European Union welcomes cultural and artistic events that make an impact across the whole of BiH and beyond its borders. The exchange of artistic visions and perspectives strengthens our life together. Photography of the Year gathers artists and their works from all across BiH and the Western Balkans region, so we are happy to be part of this project”, said Andy McGuffie, EUD/EUSR Head of Communication and Spokesperson.

The winners of the festival will be announced at the official ceremony in Sarajevo on 23 January 2014 in the Sarajevo City Hall.
