Everything is Ready for Opening of Gazi Husrev-Beg Library

gazihusrefbegbiblEverything is ready for official opening of the newly constructed Gazi Husrev-Beg library in Sarajevo on 15 January. At a press conference, the director of the library Mustafa Jahić presented the program of the opening of the new building of this important B&H institution, expressing the expectations that this institution is going to be a significant source of all Islamic researchers and other sciences.

The state of Qatar donated 8.850.000 USD or around 13 million BAM for construction of the new building of the oldest public library in B&H, which contains the largest fund of manuscripts in oriental languages in SEE. The minister of Qatar Gajis bin Mubarek El Kuvari, along with a delegation will attend the official opening of the library. Jahić expressed his satisfaction that the library was preserved during the aggression in B&H and that today it is ready to provide services to all interested users.

The official opening of the new building of the library will be transmitted by at least three TV channels, out of B&H, two Arabic and one regional.
