Famous Bosnian Director Sulejman Kupusović Dies at age 63

sulejSarajevo – The famous Bosnian director Sulejman Kupusović died at the age of 63 after a severe disease. – was confirmed for FENA at the Press service of the National Theatre Sarajevo.

Kupusović was born on April 7th 1951 in Kladanj. He graduated theater, movie, TV and radio direction at the Academy of theater and movie art in Zagreb 1974, and philosophy and comparative literature at the Faculty of humanities and social sciences in Zagreb.

He directed plays in many theaters all over former Yugoslavia. He also directed the first Bosnian opera “Hasanaginica” which was performed for the first time in Sarajevo on March 18th 2000. Besides theater plays, he directed several TV- dramas and TV-series. He is the author of a theater hit “Woman turbofolk band” performed by Kamerni teatar ’55.
