At an urgent session, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) made a decision to allocate 25 tonnes of mercantile grain corn and 25 tonnes of wheat in the grain from its reserves to the Republic of Albania, on the occasion of the request for providing international humanitarian aid.

The Federal Civil Protection Administration is in charge of the transportation of this humanitarian aid, and the Government, with a special conclusion, has given a consent that 20.000 BAM should be allocated from the FBiH budget reserve, for covering transport costs in 2017.

The Federal Ministry of Finance, the Federal Department of Commodity Reserves and the Federal Civil Protection Administration are responsible for the implementation of this decision.

This decision was made by the Federal Government after it adopted the information on the request for international assistance to the Republic of Albania. Namely, in early December 2017, heavy rain caused floods in the central and southern part of the Republic of Albania, which caused great material damage. According to preliminary estimates, more than 15.000 hectares of land, 4.715 buildings, 41 enterprises, 127 roads, 177 schools, 78 bridges, 30 water supply stations, 11 dams, 26 electrostatic stations, 29 embankments and one water pumping station were flooded.

So, the Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Center (EADRCC)  submitted a request for international assistance to the Republic of Albania on December 4th 2017, to the Ministry of Security of BiH, and on December 6th 2017, that request was forwarded, through the Operational Center of BiH, to the Operational Center of the Federal Civil Protection Administration.
