Prime Minister of FBiH Fadil Novalić stated last night in Sarajevo that the Reform Agenda needs to be more close to those it refers to. Given that the Reform Agenda aims at economic growth and employment, it refers to employers and young people who need a job.
Prior to addressing the students at the Faculty of Economy at the University of Sarajevo, Novalić said that he will explain to the students what the Reform Agenda is so that they do not shrink from it. Moreover, he will explain that the Reform Agenda to the largest extent refers to them and that the success of the Reform Agenda also depends on their inclusion in the process.
Novalić specified that 11.000 newly employed persons have been registered since the formation of new convocation of the FBiH Government until November 2015, but that the deadline for early retirement expired in December and 11.000 people retired, which reflected back as 8.000 employed persons less, resulting in acceleration of the implementation of active employment measures.
Novalić added that the provisions on co-financing of first employment and self-employment have been adopted, which resulted in another 3.000 employed persons in this month, returning their employment result to 5.000 newly employed. Novalić stated that the priority of the FBiH Government in 2016 will be to improve the business environment, with continuation of co-financing of employment because, if the foreseen 50 million BAM are completely spent, another 20 million BAM will be added through the budget rebalance, even if that means new indebtedness.
Novalić explained that, according to statistical data, there are 388.000 unemployed persons in FBiH, while the real data is 250.000 or 27 percent, because the statistic also shows those who actually do not want to work but they register just to exercise their right to health insurance or for some other reasons.
Furthermore, Novalić believes that 27 percent is a large percent for unemployment, but that it is not so significant considering that Spain and Portugal have 25 percent unemployed persons each, Greece even more, but BiH is first in Europe due to 67 percent of young unemployed people.
