The Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy planned 16 million BAM in the Ministry’s budget for the implementation of birth control measures in 2024. As previously announced by the Federal Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Adnan Delić, this is a one-time support for mothers giving birth, which includes 1,000 BAM for each newborn child in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Given that since the publication of this information, the Ministry has received a number of inquiries about who is entitled, when and how this one-time support for mothers will be granted, today the Ministry sent information that the one-time support for a newborn child applies to all children in the Federation who are born in 2024, and that the Ministry is currently carrying out activities to find the best solution for the distribution of these funds, the relevant ministry announced.

“Funds from the budget are spent on the basis of regulations from the Law on Budget Execution, and this obliges us to prepare a Fund Spending Program and a Regulation that must contain details on how to spend, in this case, these 16 million planned for one-time support for newborn children in this year,” Minister Delić announced.

The Ministry is currently working on the creation of legal and technical assumptions for the realization of this transfer, which would minimize the administration and carry out the necessary checks without burdening the citizens.

“We are trying to change the system, digitalize it, that is, we are working on the technical adjustment of the application with UNDP so that the application for this one-time support for newborn children can be done online, from your home, without walking and applying anywhere,”  the minister added.

He tells the citizens that all children born in 2024 in the territory of the Federation will receive 1,000 BAM each, and that when the application is operational, it will be open for applications throughout the year, and the funds will be paid in accordance with the rules that will be defined in the Decree on Expenditure and the manner of spending these 16 million BAM.

This will also be the first time that support for mothers giving birth will be realized from the level of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is stated in the announcement.
