The first Festival 84, a new member of the Exit Regional Family, became one of the most popular winter festivals in the world after the very first edition with a total visit of more than 20,000 people.

The Olympic flame burned again at the place where the Winter Olympic Games were held back in 1984, this time the festival one, and it was ignited by the legendary Yugoslav skier Bojan Krizaj. With this kind of opening ceremony, and its name, Festival 84 sent a message of peace to the whole region and reminded us what kind of achievements we can realize when we turn our minds towards mutual cooperation and communion.

People from all over the region and a total of 20 countries all around the world spent their time from Thursday, March 15, to Sunday, 18 March with some of the biggest world and regional music stars on marathon parties that lasted almost non-stoppingly, at five music stages all across the Olympic Center of Jahorina. Djule, frontman of the band Van Gogh, said that this great energy reminded him at the very beginning of the EXIT festival, with which he gave a hint of what the Festival 84 can achieve, while Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Goran Svilanovic stated that EXIT on Jahorina could bring great and beautiful changes to BiH. The founder of Exit, Dusan Kovacevic also said: “With Festival 84, Exit’s social mission of the reconciliation of the region got even deeper meaning and reached a new and much higher level.”

Some of the biggest world and regional music stars performed on the height of more than 1,500 meters above the sea level, and some of them are British band Sigma, the cult Asian group of activist Asian Dub Foundation, the Dutch stars DJ Joris Voorn and Patrice Baumel, the Slovenian techno bard Umek, leaders of the oriental house Burak Yeter and Mahmut Orhan, Russian hit duo Filatov & Karas, Detroit techno mag Eric Cloutier, German house master Sandrino, as well as leading regional rappers Bad Copy, Frenkie, Contra & Indigo and Sarajevo favourites Helem nejse. This program was further enriched by the great regional DJ setup that included Billain, Marko Nastic, Dejan Milicevic, Mladen Tomic, Sinisa Tamamovic, Black Acid, Vanyano, After Affair, Woodie, A Skitzo and many others.
