The dismissed workers of the Public Enterprise (PJ) Komunalno d.o.o. Mostar issued a statement on Friday in which they strongly condemned any attempt to score political points on the difficult life situation of the workers.

“In light of the current situation regarding the dismissals handed out to 22 long-time field workers of JP Komunalno d.o.o. Mostar, and taking into account numerous reactions in the public, statements by political parties, mutual squabbles and attempts to score political points, we would like to address the public and, above all, sincerely thank all those who have undertaken legal, trade union, political and other activities aimed at protecting our rights and interests,” said the dismissed workers.

At the same time, they strongly condemned any attempt to score political points on the difficult life situation of the workers.

“We especially condemn those who use this situation for mutual political name-calling or for their own promotion and attribution of credit for the actions of the competent institutions. For the sake of accurate and objective information to the public, we emphasize that we, as workers and through the Trade Union, addressed the competent Labor Inspectorate of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (HNK), which carried out an inspection on Wednesday and seized the necessary documentation from JP Komunalno d.o.o. Mostar,” they state.

In addition, they point out that all available legal actions have been taken, including filing complaints with the competent authorities, as well as sending requests and appeals to the Institution of the Ombudsman for Human Rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and other competent institutions.

As the Union and the dismissed workers, they emphasize that they jointly addressed the delegates in the Parliament of FBiH and the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, the Prime Minister of FBiH, as well as the members of the Presidency of BiH, and that they expect concrete action by representatives in the Assembly of the HNK and ministers in the Government of the HNK, following the example of the concrete activities of the Bosniak Club in the City Council of the City of Mostar.

“Our fight is not political, but exclusively a fight for the right to work, dignity and respect for the law. We believe that the competent institutions will act professionally, impartially and in accordance with the law, and that they will protect the rights of all workers,” the statement said.
