First Balkan Shield 2026 starts Today in Sarajevo

Today, the first International Fair of Dedicated and Defense Industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina – First Balkan Shield 2026 – Defense Industry Expo & Summit will be opened in Sarajevo, which will be held from September 1 to 4 in the Olympic Hall “Juan Antonio Samaranch” – Zetra.

First Balkan Shield 2026 will bring together domestic and international companies of dedicated industry, representatives of institutions and armed forces, international delegations, experts, manufacturers, investors and business partners.

Domestic and international exhibitors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey, Slovenia, China, the United States of America and Egypt will present themselves on more than 7,000 m² of exhibition space.

Denis Silajdžić, director of UNIS Group and organizer of the fair, is expected to attend and speak at the opening ceremony; Nermin Nikšić, Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina; Vedran Lakić, Federal Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry; Elmedin Konaković, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina; Zukan Helez, Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina; Borjana Krišto, chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and representatives of international companies and partners of the fair.

After the opening ceremony, an organized tour of the fair for officials and the media is scheduled, during which journalists will have the opportunity to visit the exhibition space and talk with representatives of domestic and international exhibitors.

First Balkan Shield 2026 represents an opportunity for Bosnia and Herzegovina to present the potential of its dedicated industry, but also for Sarajevo to be a meeting place for local producers with international partners, technologies and new markets.
