quran-tesbihThe first day of Ramadan and the beginning of the fast is on Saturday, 28 June this year, announced the Islamic Community in B&H.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Muslim calendar, which Muslims spend by fasting. Adults and healthy Muslims fast during Ramadan from dawn to sunset in order to acquire God’s good graces and moral purification.

The victory day of Badr (Laylat al-Badr) that is celebrated on Sunday, 13 July, is the memory of the 17th day of Ramadan of the 624th year when on the slopes of Mount Badr, near the city of Medina, the first battle in the history of Islam occurred, and it represents one of the biggest victories of Muslims.

The Islamic Community in B&H marks the 17th day of Ramadan as the day of the return of the congregation.

Laylat al-Qadr, the night of Power, which falls on Wednesday, 23 July, is the night of the beginning of the publication of the Quran and that is why this ‘’night is better than a thousand months’’.

Also, it is considered that human destinies are written in it, and Muslims pray for forgiveness of their sins and the grace of God.

Ramadan Eid is on Monday, 28 July and it is one of the two biggest Muslim holidays.

The Day of šehids-second day of Eid is on Tuesday, 29 July.
