The first group of BH pilgrims returned from Mecca, and they arrived at the International Airport of Sarajevo yesterday. They were welcomed by their closest family members and friends with a smile and tears of joy in their eyes.

Pilgrims spent eight hours at Djibouti Airport in Saudi Arabia due to procedures and large crowds, and the plane landed successfully in Sarajevo. Pilgrims were transported to their mufti units by buses. They received Zam-Zam water in the buses as well.

This year, a total of 1,730 believers traveled from BiH to perform one of the sacred duties – Hajj. The first group departed on August 17, and the return of all pilgrims is planned until September 15.

Pilgrims were led by Reisu-l- Hujjaj Husein Smajic, Deputy of Reis-ul-Ulema, and about 40 guides and 12 medical workers led by Dr. Adem Zalihic took care of them.

The youngest pilgrim this year is Imran Ramic from Sarajevo who is only seven months old, and the eldest is Emira Juremovic, also from Sarajevo, who is 82 years old.
