The official opening began with the reading from Quran, after which the attendees were addressed by the Imam of the city mosque, Hafiz Ruhid Effendi Nezir, Dr. Emir Duranović, president of the Executive Board of the Majlis of Islamic Community Konjic, and Redžo Effendi Muhibić, main Imam of the Majlis of Islamic Community Konjic.

In his addressing speech, the Mayor of Konjic Municipality expressed gratitude to all benefactors and donors who enabled the implementation of this project.

In addition to the aforementioned speakers, the attendees were also addressed by the Reis ul-Ulema of the Islamic Community in BiH Husein Effendi Kavazović, Director of the Waqf Directorate Dr. Senad Zaimović, and the Mufti of Mostar Salem Effendi Dedović.

Ceremony was attended by the guests from Qatar and Kuwait who supported the implementation of this project, and the Director General of the Charity Society Al Najat from Kuwait Mohammad Ismail Al Ansari said that it is his pleasure to see such a large number of believers who came to witness this great historical moment for the Konjic Municipality.

“We will still be here, supporting those people and ensuring the completion of the minor works that remained,” said Al Ansari.

After the addressing speeches, keys were handed over and the mosque was officially opened, with joint praying of the Noon Prayer.
