The president and four members of the Republic Election Commission (REC) submitted their resignations today, confirmed to Srna news agency by Oliver Blagojević, who performed the function of president.
“After the session, we submitted our resignations to the protocol of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska,” said Blagojević.
Blagojević said that two members did not attend the REC session today for justified reasons.
He added that at the session they were also informed about the Draft Election Law of the Republic of Srpska.
The Government of Republika Srpska announced earlier that it was unacceptable to impose amendments to the BiH Election Law by the high representative in BiH and called on all members of the election enforcement bodies from the RS to resign from their duties.
