The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) organized a selection for “the team of the year 2017”, and the representative of the National Team of BiH Miralem Pjanic was included in the competition.

Other candidates in his category are Dele Alli, Marca Asensio, Casemiro, Kevin de Bruyne, Christian Eriksen, Fabinho, Eden Hazard, Andres Iniesta, Isco, Toni Kroos, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Luka Modric, Paul Pogba and Saul Niguez.
Besides Pjanic, Gianluigi Buffon, Giorgio Chiellini, Alex Sandro and Paulo Dybala are also nominated from Juventus.
Surprisingly, Edin Dzeko is not on the list of candidates for the attacker’s position, although the captain of the National team of BiH was the best scorer of Serie A last season and he played very well in both European competitions this year as well.
