Former Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader was released on parole today.

At today’s hearing in the Sisak County Court, it was decided that Sanader meets the conditions for early release from prison, Croatian media reported.

Sanader was sentenced to a single prison sentence of 18 years, and so far he has already been seen in Zagreb and Kutina, because he used the benefits he has under the Act on Execution of Prison Sentences.

He was sentenced to seven years in prison for withdrawing money from public companies to the “black fund” of the HDZ and making an unregistered donation to the party’s coffers.

He was sentenced to six years in prison because he asked for and received money from the owner of the “Fiolić” butcher’s shop, Stjepan Fiolić, for concessions in the sale of the building to the Ministry.

He was sentenced to six years in prison for handing over management rights over “Ina” to the Hungarian oil company for a bribe of 10 million euros.
